Tomatoes
Lycopene is one of the carotenoids in tomatoes. Cooking tomatoes a little activates the lycopene benefits found in tomatoes. Cooked in a stew or soup, or roasted in some fresh salsa, tomatoes are delicious!

Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate is a great way to enjoy chocolate. Dark chocolate can protect your skin from sun damage. Raw cacao, or chocolate, contains flavonoids. Flavonoids are anti-aging antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals and prevent wrinkles, fine lines, and skin discoloration. According to Healthline, choosing dark chocolate with 70% cocoa will maximize its health benefits and minimize added sugar. For a little pick-me-up in the middle of the day, try dark chocolate on strawberries, grated over oatmeal, or just by itself!

Walnuts
Omega-3 fatty acids are abundant in walnuts. In addition to reducing inflammation in the body, omega-3 fatty acids help the skin stay smooth and moisturized. Zinc is also found in walnuts. By fighting inflammation and bacteria, zinc helps the skin to function as a protective barrier. You can eat walnuts by themselves, in soups, or in summer salads!

Berries
These fruits contain many vitamins, such as vitamin C, as well as anti-inflammatory compounds that protect against free radicals and prevent premature aging. Berry fruits are also lower in sugar than many other fruits. Sugar has many negative side effects on the body, including speeding up the aging process of the skin. Try berries sprinkled on yogurt or blended into your favorite smoothie!

Foods like broccoli and kale, which are considered superfoods
Both broccoli and kale are superfoods found in "cruciferous" (cabbage family) vegetables. Sulforaphane is a special compound found in them. By neutralizing harmful free radicals and activating other protective systems in the body, sulforaphane protects against sun damage. Women's hormones may also be supported by sulforaphane. It contains a substance called indole-3-carbinol that can help balance estrogen levels. Enjoy broccoli or kale in a smoothie, in a soup, sauteed or stir-fried!
